The timepieces from Rado

A success story from Switzerland

Loading...

The history of Rado dates back to 1917 when the Schlup brothers set up a watch movement factory in Lengnau, Switzerland named Schlup & Co. Initially, the company focused on the production of watch movements that they would sell to watch manufacturers. In 1937, the Schlup brothers founded a subsidiary company called RadoWatch Co. Ltd., which manufactures the Rado timepieces, as we know them today. Since the launch of the DiaStar in 1962, Rado has been characterised by high-tech materials and ergonomic shapes. Materials such as tungsten carbide, ceramic, and sapphire glass are fused with refined and concise designs, establishing Rado timepieces as exclusive and unique. The first Rado Sintra collection was launched in 1993 and has since undergone several upgrades.

The Rado Sintra for men

Watches made from high tech ceramic

The case of the Rado Sintra is comprised of sleek and graceful lines, making it the perfect timepiece for wearing comfort. The timepiece is made of a high-tech ceramic material that is combined with titanium and sapphire crystal, further providing the rectangular case with a contemporary avant-garde aura. Regardless of the model from the collection, all Rado Sintra timepieces for gentlemen impress with a classic, contemporary, and a cool feel. Those who are searching for a reliable chronograph can turn to the Rado Sintra Quartz Chronograph (Ref. 538.0434.3.012). The case and the bracelet of this watch are made from platinum-coloured ceramics and provide a sleek and elegant design. The dial of the watch is silver while the totalizers of the watch are rectangular formed to suit the case of the watch. Watch lovers who prefer an overall dark appearance, however, can opt for the Rado Sintra Quartz Chronograph (Ref. 538.0477.3.019) that is entirely encompassed in black. Mechanical watch enthusiasts are delighted with the Rado Sintra Automatic Chronometer (Ref. 629.0663.3.016). At the heart of this timepiece beats a self-winding mechanical movement, which is a COSC-certified chronometer and therefore guarantees precision at the highest level.

The Rado Sintra women’s watch

Purist and elegant

The men’s timepieces from the Rado Sintra collection are also very suitable for delicate feminine wrists. The pure and elegant designs of the timepieces adorn both the arms of ladies and gentlemen alike. However, for those who prefer more of a distinct feminine, the Rado Sintra women’s collection provides just the right solution.

The Rado Sintra Diamonds is far more than a simple timekeeper – the ladies watch also acts as the perfect jewel on the wrist. The timepiece is available in a choice of white (Ref. 153.0831.3.070) or black (Ref. 153.0618.3.071), both of which are comprised of a high-tech ceramic that smoothly graces the skin. However, a particular highlight of the timepiece is evidently the diamonds that are adorned on the case of the watch. The four diamond indices on the simple dial of the watch beautifully complement the overall elegant design. Those who prefer an overall simple design can opt for variants of the Rado Sintra that exclusively utilise diamonds to form indices, such as the Sinatra’s watch (Ref. 318.0726.3.070).
