Chopard Grand Prix

The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique is a unique automobile event, which is focused on historic motorsports and the racing of classic cars. The automobile race has been held once every two years since 1997. With an average speed of 150km/hr., the old-timer race takes place through the legendary circuit of Monaco. Perfectly maintained automobiles and the highest levels of concentration and caution are required for the classic car race, as the automobiles driven are less reliable compared to current race cars.

Chopard has been the official timekeeper and sponsor of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique since 2002. The Swiss watchmaker celebrates the bold participants of the prestigious race event who have spent a long duration of time dismantling, repairing, and adjusting their automobiles in order to perform with precision in an outstanding event. With the development of each timepiece, Chopard draws on centuries of past experience in Haute Horlogerie. Louis-Ulysse Chopard founded the company over 150 years ago in Sonvilier, Switzerland. He created his timepieces with passion and diligence from the very start. He ventured out to expand the Chopard name and the high-quality timepieces that come along with it. He especially discovered enthusiastic clientele in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

In 1963, the company was taken over by Karl Scheufele in Pforzheim. The spirit of the company has remained unchanged since Chopard has continued to be synonymous with first-class Swiss craftsmanship and innovative designs.
