What does ref. 126710BLRO stand for?

The Rolex reference numbers always have a special meaning. After many years, Ref. 16710 was the current GMT master, it was followed by Ref. 116710 - and finally Ref. 126710:

  • The twelve at the beginning represent the latest generation of Rolex calibres. The reference 126710BLRO uses calibre 3285, which, unlike its predecessor calibre 3185, has a power reserve of around 70 hours and a patented Chronergy escapement that is particularly resistant to magnetic fields, as well as being more efficient.

  • The zero at the end stands for the material, i.e. stainless steel. For example, an eight at the end indicates yellow gold and a nine indicates white gold.

  • The BLRO indicates the bezel colour, namely blue/rouge (English: blue/red).
