Vacheron Constantin Overseas – A legendary timepiece

In 1996, Vacheron Constantin took a new direction with the Overseas collection. With this, the Swiss manufacturer thrilled adventurers and travel enthusiasts alike with its first sports chronograph. With its impressive technology and sport look, Vacheron Constantin has succeeded in creating a legendary timepiece that suits every occasion.

A new thirst for adventure in the 1990s

The call of the unknown

The call of the unknown
The thrill of leaving the familiar behind, pushing yourself to new limits, discovering new things and searching for challenges and freedom became more and more popular in the 1990s. Vacheron Constantin took on this new thirst for adventure as well. The quest to develop a wristwatch that worked as a companion for both travellers and athletes was born. For an incredible 260 years this Geneva manufacturer had been creating high-quality watches for the luxury market but the field of sports watches remained uncharted territory for it. But, just as for its clients, there was no challenge too big for this renowned watch brand. The first Vacheron Constantin Overseas chronograph came off the production line in 1996. The timepiece was particularly characterised by its unprecedented sportiness, robust workmanship and useful functions.

Longevity and robustness

Dealing with any situation

Right from the start, one thing was a priority for the experienced watchmakers at Vacheron Constantin: the Vacheron Constantin Overseas model should exceed conventional watches in terms of its value and robustness. This is the only way to ensure that it always demonstrates reliability and never lets the wearer down no matter how tough the going. For this reason, only the most durable of materials such as rose-gold, stainless steel and Fincoll are used for the housing. The watch glass is also designed to be scratch and shock-resistant. To guarantee that the Vacheron Constantin Overseas always copes with environments where it comes into contact with water or magnetic fields, the watch has anti-magnetisation protection up to 25,000 A / m and water resistance up to 15 bar.

Always up to date

Around the globe

Geneva today, Tokyo tomorrow, New York the day after – if you travel far and wide on a regular basis, you want a watch that reliably shows the current time. The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time watch is the ideal companion when travelling across multiple time zones. On the automatic caliber 1222 SC, an alternative zone can be set by engaging a ring on the outer edge of the dial. With its practical day-night display, the current time zone is always visible at a glance.

A wristwatch with cult status

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph

The Overseas Chronograph was one of the first models in the collection and has long enjoyed cult status. Equipped with the automatic caliber 1137, it enables the exact measurement of time. Hours, minutes and seconds gone by are displayed using three totalisers around the centre of the dial. The chronograph also has a date display at the 12 o'clock point. With bright hands, numerals and indices on a dark grey dial, a case made of red gold and a dark-brown rubber strap, the Overseas Chronograph has a visual appearance that complements other models in the collection. With its striking looks, it is the perfect match for the adventurer for whom it was created.

The right timepiece for every watch lover

Two sizes to suit every wrist

While the regular Overseas model with its diameter of 42-millimetres can appear chunky on narrower wrists, the smaller Overseas version is an ideal alternative. This combines all the properties of the larger Overseas but has a diameter of just 36-millimetres, giving a much more refined appearance. Thanks to a display set at the 3 o'clock point, the wearer always has a clear view of the current date while the lettering "Vacheron Constantin Geneve" above the centre and a diamond-set bezel make this watch an eternal favourite.
